Yeast is the Brewer’s miracle worker! They take the sugars in the grains and other ingredients and convert them into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Without yeast, there is no beer, so we should all be eternally raising a glass to our fungal friends! There’s a biblical basis for our thinking too:
Matthew 13:33 –He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
